Starting Seeds in Eggshells

June 4 , 2007

There is still time to start seeds. Nasturtium, moss rose, zinnia, and other annuals have plenty of season left to sprout, grow, and bloom. Eggshells are an easy way to start seeds. When it is time to plant, just crack the bottom and plant the whole thing. The shell adds nutrients, like calcium, and helps to retain moisture around the roots.

So next time you make an omelet save the shells for seeds.
