Plant: annual vines to 30'

Origin: probably Mexico

Zone
: annual

Flowers
: dioecious flowers. Both large yellow, typical squash flowers. Female flower is bigger with a fat receptacle.

Foliage: large lobed leaves. Vines normally look healthy and vigorous in summer, but raggedy by harvest time.

Culture
: sun. Well-drained fertile soil. If lots of bees are not present, then hand pollinate. Becareful underside of leaves and stems have prickles. Avoid wetting leaves in the evening, as they are susceptible to fungal infections.
