Flowers
: one-sided spikes of tiny purple flowers, terminal and axillary. Large amount of nectar attracts honeybees, bumblebees, and other pollinators to the garden

Foliage: simple, nearly sessile leaves.

Culture
: full sun in well drained, average to poor soil. Prune back stems in mid summer to encourage new growth and repeat bloom.
