Plant: tuberous perennials

Origin: Northern Hemisphere

: 4 - 9

Flowers
: spathe and spadix structure pollinated by fungus gnats in late spring. Spadix produces green berries that turn bright red in late summer and autumn.

Foliage: one or two palmate/pedate leaves are usual

Culture
: shady location in moist soil. Avoid watering ephemeral species when dormant.
