Flowers: spathe and spadix structure pollinated by fungus gnats in late spring. Spadix produces green berries that turn bright red in late summer and autumn.

Foliage: one or two palmate/pedate leaves are usual

Culture: shady location in moist soil. Avoid watering ephemeral species when dormant.
